Born in Arkansas to a black mother and Native American father, Billy Bragg grew up in abject poverty during the times of racist segregation in the South.
Billy joined the Air Force to support his family and serve his country. Stationed first at Luke Air Force Based in Glendale, he served in Turkey and Saudi Arabia from the late 70s through early 80s. He retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service.
Billy became a Republican in 1981 because of his great respect and gratitude for President Ronald Reagan, whose legislative action allowed him to leave behind low-paying supply jobs and move on to receive specialized military training.
A committed resident of the West Valley for the last 49 years, Billy is active in his church and community.
